Flower Process

Everyone has their favorite wedding flowers—from peonies to garden roses to dahlias to magnolias, we hear requests for all types of showy blooms. Of course, most flowers are only available for a few months of each year. Since all Poppy flowers are delivered to your wedding straight from one of our farms, we focus on sourcing and designing with a variety of stems that are fresh and most beautiful right at the time of your wedding. No matter the time of year, we guarantee beautiful, show-stopping stems for your big day. Here’s a snapshot of what’s typically in season in each month: Flowers available for winter weddings (December, January, February): Paperwhites, Poinsettias, Amaryllis, Hellebores. Flowers available for Spring weddings (March, April, May): Peonies, Poppies, Orchids, Tulips. Flowers available for Summer weddings (June, July, August): Hydrangeas, Sunflowers, Gardenias, Zinnias. Flowers available for Fall weddings (September, October, November): Dahlias, Cosmos, Sunflower, Aster. Some flowers are available year-round like Roses, Ranunculus, and Anemone.

Most couples spend about 8-10% of their total wedding budget on flowers. If you work with a traditional florist, you’ll come up against high minimums (pricing usually starts around $4,000) and black out dates. The price of flowers for most Poppy weddings is between $1,750 and $5,000 all-in, including white glove delivery and installation, and we can work with any date. We recognize that, like everything for your big day, wedding florals are a big investment, and the details really matter. Poppy works with you to understand your highest priorities and always presents you with ideas and solutions at multiple price points, so you can choose the option that fits your budget without ever compromising on quality or style.

As soon as you’ve selected a venue and a date for your wedding, it’s time to start planning your wedding flowers. Poppy recommends designing and ordering florals with us between 5 and 7 months before your wedding date.

Yes! We have two flexible options. Book with a small $249 deposit, then pay the balance in easy monthly installments. Or, save $50 by booking with a larger deposit of $1,250, then pay the remaining balance on your own terms, with the full amount due 60 days before your wedding.

Log into your custom wedding floral proposal and explore a variety of recommended bouquets and arrangements based on your color palette. Work 1-on-1 with your dedicated Floral Consultant to customize your florals based on your vision and budget. Secure your date with a small deposit. Finalize your proposal with your Floral Consultant then work with your Floral Manager to finalize logistics for custom installs, venue, and timeline. We'll assign an experienced, vetted local Floral Designer to your wedding, who will be designing and installing your flowers. Enjoy the day! On your big day, your flowers are delivered and installed at your venue, hassle-free, by your local Floral Designer.

Your Poppy Floral Designer is a vetted floral expert who is local to your venue. They are one of over 800 members of Poppy’s Designer Network, our nation-wide community of vetted floral designers. All of our Floral Designers are only invited to join our network after passing a portfolio review, interview, and design trial. We work closely with each designer as they prepare the flowers for your wedding to make sure that every stem and detail is perfect.
